Bodyguard that recorded the highest opening for any Bollywood film so far, grossed 21.5 cr on Wednesday August 31.

The film saw a slump of almost five crores on the second day and likewise another 3 crores on the third day. However despite this, this film has collected a phenomenal amount says producer-distributor N R Pachisia.
Pachisia says, Despite the critics' panning it,Bodyguard will still turn do unheard of box office. In UAE it collected 4.7 million dihrams and in UK it collected 400,000 GBP in the opening period. The way this film is going one doesn't know where the business will end.''
It is said that despite the very average content, Bodyguard has clearly shown people that Salman Khan is now the messiah of the masses and though his films don't stimulate the intelligentsia, this man of the masses has got the lowest common denominator on his side. Seeing the business of this film, other Bollywood heroes are seriously worried about where they stand,'' says a leading North Indian distributor. The film has collected good money in New Delhi too.''
It is also being said that Salman's next release Ek Tha Tiger that will open only in June 1, 2012 will have the actor sharing profits with Yashraj.
