Rajkumar Hirani to rope in Ranveer Singh?

This one is a shocker of a development and a pleasant one at that. Just when one was thinking about Ranveer's next film after Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl, buzz in the air is that the young man is being wooed by none less than Raj Kumar Hirani for his next.

"No one could see it coming but now that it is happening, it all seems well deserved. For months there have been speculations around what would Hirani make next. Also, Ranveer too hasn't signed a new project outside Yash Raj Films. Now for his film where Raju is looking at someone to play a college student, one who has seemingly made it to the top of his list is none other than Ranveer", says a source who wished to be unnamed.

If at all this project indeed materialises between Hirani and Ranveer, it would be a first for the director when it comes to casting a largely untested actor since his Munnabhai series as well as 3 Idiots have boasted of established actors. On the other hand, for Ranveer it would be a big push in his career as this would be a solo hero film.

"Ranveer has made his intentions clear that he prefers solo films for now. Ever since Band Baaja Baaraat, he is still receiving ton loads of accolades. Meanwhile his Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl is carrying great reports as well. Other than Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan, he is the only actor who is in serious consideration when it comes to films with young solo leads who come with great promise to deliver", a trade guru adds.

While an official announcement is awaited in this regard, one wonders if Hirani makes his next with Ranveer, what happens to the third instalment of Munnabhai that has already been dragged around for a couple of years now.
